Request for nominations:
CSA requests nominations for candidate applications for five Regular Governing Board seats and one Vice President starting in 2024. Candidates can self-nominate or suggest others. This is an excellent opportunity to support the CSA and to contribute to the organization.
Our current board is working on making CSA more accessible by creating policy to address issues of inclusion, diversity, and support for CSA members. If you have some ideas on fostering this mission, the Governing Board is a wonderful place to make an impact.
Governing Board information and responsibilities:
Regular Governing Board members serve a three-year term, so elected candidates would start after the completion of our 2024 conference and end in 2027 after our annual conference. Graduate student members are eligible to continue their term after completion of their degree program. The vice president position is two years with transition into the president/acting executive director for two more years and one year as an active board member in the position of immediate past president. All GB members can run for re-election to serve consecutive or multiple terms.
To serve on the Governing Board, members should expect to:
Nominees will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire that declares a member’s official candidacy and is the primary method of communicating their ideas to general membership.
Elections will be conducted electronically via a secure and confidential website from January 18, 2024 to March 18, 2024. Election results will be posted on March 18, 2024.

- Participate in and attend the CSA annual meeting
- Attend the annual Governing Board meeting following the conference
- Respond in a timely manner to all email correspondence during the year
- Actively participate in ongoing committee and subcommittee work, which usually entails 5-7 teleconferences per year
- Maintain active CSA membership
- Uphold our code of conduct regarding treating fellow members with dignity and respect
