SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

CULTURAL STUDIES ASSOCIATION

2017 ANNUAL MEETINGS

Georgetown University, May 25-27

In light of recent events in the USA, the Cultural Studies

Association has decided to broaden its nominal theme for

our 2017 conference.

We will still be working with our current theme—“Culture

in the Age of Mass Debt”—but we will focus equally on the

theme, “Dealing with Trump.”

The line-up for our plenaries and starred panels will reflect

this new emphasis and we will circulate a firm list of plenary

speakers in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, our website is open for submissions and the

deadline for proposals is February 1, 2017:

http://www.culturalstudiesassociation.org/

If you have not already done so, please think about sending

an individual proposal or panel proposal and join us in May to

bring together our energies in these inauspicious times in our

culture.
